Sliding doors
Sliding doors move side to side on a track. That makes them ideal for openings where you do not want a door swinging into the space — a patio, a backyard, a small living room.
- Require no clearance in front of them.
- Work well with large glass panels, so they let in a lot of light.
- Give easy, quick access to a patio, garden or backyard.
Trellis doors
Trellis doors fold and retract into a compact stack. They can be installed practically anywhere the opening sits between two adjacent walls.
- You have a wide opening and want to be able to open it up completely.
- You do not have a straight line of wall on both sides for a sliding track.
- You want a door that disappears when open.
Which should you choose?
- Patio, backyard or garden access? Sliding doors are usually the best choice.
- A wide opening you want to fully clear? Trellis doors are often better.
- An opening without parallel walls on both sides? Trellis doors.
